Youth Pastor Jordan and Katylnn were married July 6, 2023 at Mount Carmel Church of God of Prophecy, Brooke’s home Church. Bryan and Brooke have two children, Bentley N. (born April 28, 2015) and Brody N. (December 4, 2017).
Pastor Jordan felt the “call” to preach and was licensed at Freedom Baptist Church in November 2012. He was led to Parkersburg Baptist Church in March 2013 and Pastored until July 2016. He was then led to the Church of God, his "home roots.” Pastor Bryan went to Pastor Roseboro Church of God in July 2016 where he felt he was sent with a vision of restoration. After feeling the peace of God that the work was complete, Pastor Bryan completed this tenure July 21, 2019. . . .
There has been multiple testimonies and stories of God blessings upon the youth here. Visit our Youth Page for more information how God is moving in the youth of today. Continue reading...
A WORD FROM THE PASTOR
Ezekiel 33:1-11; 1 Corinthians 9:16; 2 Corinthians 4:3-5; Matthew 28:18-20. “God has called me, not man. God has appointed me as a watchman to preach unto my heart and the people, ‘Why will ye die when God offers life through His Son, Jesus?’ Woe is me if I preach not the gospel for I must preach Jesus and not myself. I refuse to let this Glorious Gospel be hid. Jesus said ‘Go’ for He is with me always.”
The year was 1944, the place was Autryville, North Carolina and the achievement was fulfilled at the close of a glorious, three-week revival. Services were held by evangelist J.W. Knight, whom later became the pastor. At the close of the revival, eleven people were taken in as church members.
Once the church was organized, services were held in a small store managed by Mr. Jeff Averitte. Later property was acquired and a small, one room building was constructed. Afterward, five rooms were added to the church and a five, room parsonage was built.
The movement continued to grow and prosper, as did the building program. A new brick church was built next to the old one and the parsonage was also enlarged to six rooms, and two baths. In later years a fellowship hall was added, the sanctuary was fully carpeted and the light fixtures were replaced with antique brass chandeliers. A beautiful steeple was erected on the church, the parking lot was paved and more land across the road was purchased.
29 Prominent Teachings
We, the Church of God of Prophecy takes the whole bible rightly divided. These are 29 Prominent teachings from the Word that we trust will guide and help the individual believer to grow. These are in no way all teachings nor are they meant to be used as rules and creeds but as the scriptures teaches, we follow.
These are only four that we wish to make Prominent, as we all need to repent of our sins and confess that Jesus is Lord, our personal Lord. Visit our page to read all 29 Prominent teachings.
REPENTANCE
Repentance is both a condition and an act; it is the state of being in Godly sorrow for sins committed and the act of turning from and forsaking those sins. ''For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be, repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." 2 Corinthians 7:10. Also, read Mark 1:15; Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19. Repentance is a prerequisite for justification.
JUSTIFICATION
Justification is both a state and an act; it is the state of being void of offense toward God brought about by the act of God in forgiving actual transgressions for which one has repented. It is the result of repentance and faith. "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1. Also, read Romans 5:2-9; Titus 3:7. Justification precedes regeneration.
REGENERATION
Regeneration is an act of God performed in the justified heart whereby new, spiritual life is generated. Man is dead in trespasses and sin through Adam; he must be quickened or regenerated through Christ. It is a vital part of the plan of salvation by faith. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost." Titus 3:5. Other Scriptures are Matthew 19:28; Ephesians 2:1, 4, 5. Regeneration is simultaneous with the new birth.
BORN AGAIN
To be born again is to become a new creature in Christ and a child of God. This new birth is the result of repentance, justification and regeneration. It is a definite and instantaneous experience wrought in the heart accompanied by a definite inner witness. There is no other way to enter the kingdom of God. (However, the new birth does not make one a member of the Church of God.) "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." John 3:7. Read John 3:3-8; 1 Peter 1:23; 1 John 3:9; Romans 8:16; 1 John 3:14. The new birth is a prerequisite for the experience of sanctification.
